Sarah N Wills
I am a registered member (MBACP) with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and a Counselling Psychologist in training, in the final stages of a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at the University of the West of England. My qualification will lead to Chartered Registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am due to qualify as a Chartered Psychologist and Registered Counselling Psychologist at the beginning of 2019.
As a Counselling Psychologist in training, I must adhere to both the BPS Code of Ethics and Conduct and the HCPC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics. I also receive regular supervision from a Consultant Counselling Psychologist.
I hold a current Enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) certificate, and maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
I have over eight years of experience of working within a counselling role; most of this experience has been gained through working as a Counselling Psychologist in training or as an Assistant Psychologist for the NHS. I have provided psychological therapy in a range of settings, including Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services, Carers services, Community Learning Disability Teams, and within educational contexts.
I have a particular interest in working collaboratively with clients to ensure therapy is specifically tailored to meet their needs. I take a client-led approach, and by focusing on the client's individual goals, I draw upon a range of psychological approaches in order to support the client to reach their goals.
